RESIDENTIAL BUILDING

desert – lausanne – 5th prize

A new residential building is planned at one end of a large residential area around the Chemin de Pierrefleur in Lausanne.

The challenge of this project is to propose a complement to this pre-established complex.

The building is z-shaped in order to create a dynamic square for the neighbourhood. This open space is created very naturally through contact with the adjacent buildings.

The sloping topography requires a project organisation by way of differentiated relations between floor levels, which benefits the mixed-use programme of the project. In fact, the dwellings seem to be lifted off the street, with tertiary programme benefits from visibility on the varying ground floor levels by accompanying the promenade to the south.
